The Mirai Speaker's cutting edge AudibleWave delivers crips clear dialogue that is easier for most people to understand.
When I ordered the Mirai speaker, I was hopeful that it would help my husband hear the TV a bit better - any improvement I would have considered a success. After plugging in (very easy set up), we both noticed a considerable difference. He would routinely have the volume at a 31 or 32; we’ve noticed that now, with this speaker, it’s usually set between 17-18 - a huge difference. I don’t do many reviews, but this is a product that I highly recommend to anyone who may have some trouble hearing the TV and differentiating words - it really does work.
I have hearing loss and wear bilateral hearing aids. I have used wireless headphones to allow others in the room to view at a comfortable volume. The Mirai speakers allow me to listen and understand at normal TV volumes without the isolation imposed by headphones or discomfort for others. I can understand dialogue even without my hearing aids. Before these speakers, I had to amplify the TV and/or turn up my hearing aids. Both strategies amplified ALL the sounds on the TV. Using one Mirai speaker clarified the dialogue without amplifying the background noise ,and two speakers provided a richer, fuller sound.
This is a compact speaker with amazing sound. I found that I was going back on some films because I did not understand some of the dialogue. I also realized that I was turning the sound up on my TV (two ruptured eardrums). I live in an apartment and did not want to be "that person" whose television is always too loud. Music is very clear and percussion is snappy. I have yet to turn the volume up past the first two settings. The only reason that I did not give it five stars is because, at least on my television, the remote does not change the volume on the speaker. I solved this by getting a long RCA cord so the speaker sits by the chair I usually use. Actually, this may be an advantage since the input on the speaker is a 3mm headphone jack. I will be able to hook it up to my phone (where most of my favorite music is stored) or laptop (movies) simply by switching the cord.
